A version of this review originally appeared on my other website, MindOverMenieres.com.

I get a lot of emails from CBD companies who want me to try their products. It started shortly after I made my first video about how much CBD helps me manage my tinnitus.

I turn down most of the offers, because the products are either too expensive, or there just isn’t anything new or compelling about the company. But my plan was always to try as many different CBD products as I could, and to tell you about it when I found something interesting.

Finding the right CBD product that works best for you can take time. Everyone seems to respond differently to different products. Sometimes you have to try a few companies, types of products, and different dosages to find what actually works best for you.

Over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to test out a whole bunch of amazing new CBD products.

So today, I’m going to tell you about some of my experiences with one of these new companies called Joy Organics, whose CBD products helped me manage my tinnitus during one of the most challenging times of my entire life.

Full spectrum CBD without THC:

Joy Organics is definitely a premium brand. Their CBD products are a bit more expensive than some of the other companies I’ve reviewed, and I haven’t tried everything they have to offer – only their CBD oil and softgels so far.

But they’re doing some incredibly creative things that really caught my attention and make it worth the price.

First and foremost, their whole product line is THC-free, but still contains full spectrum hemp extract. All of the other beneficial compounds found in the hemp plant – the cannabinoids and terpenes – are present, but an extra step was taken to remove the trace quantities of THC from all of their products.

There are a lot of THC-free CBD oils and products on the market already, but most of them are made with CBD isolate, which is purified CBD and nothing else. These products do work – I’ve even made a video showing how to make your own inexpensive CBD oil with CBD isolate – but they don’t offer the beneficial synergistic effect that the other cannabinoids and terpenes have to offer, known as the entourage effect.

Technically speaking, the trace amounts of THC in full spectrum CBD oils is an important part of the entourage effect. But if you are one of the many people who don’t want any THC in your CBD supplements, for whatever reason, Joy organics THC-Free, full spectrum products should be a more effective option than CBD isolate alone.

CBD oils, pills, drink mixes, and more!

Joy Organics offers some really interesting CBD products.

In addition to the oil and softgels that I’ve been using, they have a full spectrum (THC-free) CBD vape pen (discontinued for now), a CBD energy drink mix, which I know may not be a great option for many of you who are triggered by caffeine, but interesting none the less, and CBD softgels mixed with other ingredients for different specific applications.

For example, they offer CBD softgels mixed with melatonin to better help with sleep, or with curcumin for better inflammation relief. They also offer pet friendly CBD formulations, and CBD Topicals as well.

Relief during difficult circumstances:

My experience with the oil and softgels has been excellent. As many of you know, the past few months have been incredibly difficult for me and my wife Megan.

In the last 10 weeks since our first son Zack was born, we successfully completed a round of IVF to freeze embryos, Megan started chemo therapy for breast cancer, we traveled with the baby to upstate New York to participate in our close friend’s wedding, and my grandfather passed away, also from cancer.

It’s been stressful beyond words and my Meniere’s symptoms have been worse than they’ve been in years. I haven’t had vertigo, but my tinnitus has spiked over and over again and I’ve been extremely dizzy. It’s the closest I’ve been to a full-on Meniere’s episode in a very long time.

Fortunately, CBD has helped me immensely and Joy Organics was in heavy rotation throughout this time.

My experiences so far:

The main benefit I get from CBD is relaxation, or more specifically, anxiety and stress relief. And because anxiety and stress are such big symptom triggers for me, it helps me to manage my tinnitus and other Meniere’s symptoms indirectly.

Joy organics has a slightly different effect from many of the other oils I’ve tried. It’s very calming, but in a less drowsy kind of way, making it better for daytime use, at least for me. It tastes great too. The tranquil mint flavor is quite minty and has not even a hint of the hemp flavor of other oils, at least not with the concentration I tried.

When I take the oil sublingually, I experience a calm focus that has really helped me to push through difficult days. That pit of my stomach feeling that I get with anxiety melts away, and my other symptoms (like dizziness) seem to subside to a degree.

Interestingly, I like their CBD softgels better. The effect is the same for me, but a bit stronger and it lasts a lot longer. I actually discovered recently that I benefit more from CBD pills than I do from oils, across the board. I’ve purchased and tested a bunch of different CBD pills and softgels from different companies to start testing this more thoroughly. More on that soon!

My Recommendation:

Over all, I highly recommend Joy Organics, especially if you are looking for a more effective THC-free CBD option.

But I also think it’s worth trying new CBD products like Joy Organics from time to time, even if you’ve already found one that works well. You never know how you might benefit! I now take different CBD for all kinds of different reasons and applications.

So, if you want to give them a try, I was able to get a 15% discount code for everyone!

You can use the offer code mindover at checkout for 15% off your order.

NOTE: Joy Organics sent me these products for free to test out. I receive many free products (and purchase many products too) but only ever end up writing about a very small percentage of them that work for me and that I stand behind. 1. I’m curious to know which dosage you’re using for the Joy Organics full spectrum capsules. They sell it in 10 mg or 25 mg dose capsules.

BTW, congratulations on the birth of your son Zack. What a precious, beautiful little boy!

And my prayers go up for your wife Megan. Remember that God is good!

    Peace,

    Steve

Thanks Steve! I use both the 10mg full spectrum softgels, as well as the 25mg full spectrum softgels with curcumin and find them both helpful. When I take the 10mg ones, I usually take 2-3. But thats just what works best for me. Everyone reacts differently to CBD, and you may need more or less per dose.

  2. So you were using both Charlotte’s Web and Joy Organics? I have some CBD oil and gummies but what halted my experimentation is the fact that a few people shared that CBD (THC free) made their tinnitus spike and for a long period of time. Has any of the CBD products you tried ever caused a spike?
You mentioned that some can cause drowsiness and Joy Organics is superior in that it doesn’t. So some CBD products are better taken before bed? About how long does one dosage have an effect on you? You mention the soft gels have a lasting effect. Understood that CBD does affect people differently.

Hi Nikki, I use all three companies that I talked about in the post. No CBD product has never caused a symptom spike for me, tinnitus or otherwise. I’ve heard of reports of tinnitus spikes from CBD in general, but it seems to be rare – and (anecdotally) I haven’t heard of any long term changes for the worse. Also, THC free vs full spectrum with THC wouldn’t make a difference here. If you didn’t experience any spikes in your experimentation, you are probably in the clear. The reports I’ve heard, the spikes happened right away.

As far as the specific effect for each product, it’s going to vary greatly from person to person. Many people use Joy Organics CBD to help them sleep. But for me, I find it’s better for day time use compared to CBDistillery, but again, that’s just how it affects me. Everyone experiences it a bit differently, and you just have to experiment – with time of day too. Some people prefer morning or daytime CBD, while others prefer night time.

Oral CBD takes about 20-40 minutes to “kick in” for me and lasts for like 3-6 hours. Sublingual takes about 5-10 minutes to take effect, and lasts like 2-3 hours. Vaping CBD kicks in within seconds, but only lasts up to an hour or so for me. Hope that helps!

  3. CBD alone has no effect on my severe tinnitus. I’m not alone. While the author falls all over himself to clarify that CBF oil has no THC, I find the 1 to 1 THC/CBD edibles effective. As with numerous drugs the doctor prescribes us, you should avoid driving on this. And avoid using it all day and night long. Point is, THC is an acceptable tool that helps me and others.

Hi Steve, I never said that THC is unacceptable, and I’m glad it has helped you find relief! I just don’t usually recommend it because it can lead to increased anxiety, which can sometimes worsen tinnitus. 1 to 1 is a good ratio though for avoiding this potential side effect. I also have nothing against full spectrum CBD oils that have trace amounts of THC, I use them all the time. I just wanted to be clear that this product is the best alternative for people who want full spectrum CBD products, but also don’t want any THC, for whatever their reasons are. Hope that makes sense!
