The Coaching Process:

The goal of Tinnitus Coaching is to help you habituate as quickly as possible.

Tinnitus isn’t just a sound. It’s an emotional, psychological, and physiological problem too. These kinds of issues only get worse when we ignore them. I can help you overcome the specific obstacles preventing you from finding the relief you deserve.

The first session is a chance for me to learn more about you and the nature of your tinnitus, and for you to learn more about the habituation strategy.

Topics may include: How did you develop tinnitus? What unique obstacles are you facing?  When did it become bothersome? What is working for you so far? Lifestyle variables such as personal and work stress, sleep issues, and challenges will be addressed.

Once I have a better understanding of your tinnitus, and you have a better understanding of the process, I will create a customized tinnitus habituation strategy for you to follow.

After our first session, a detailed breakdown and explanation of the personalized habituation strategy will be emailed to the client.

  • Suggested lifestyle changes
  • Detailed instructions and practice schedules
Once we begin working together, I will check in with you periodically to monitor your progress.

Additionally, I will be available to you throughout the process for questions and issues as they arise.

Follow up sessions allow us to review your progress and make strategy adjustments.

Topics May Include: What is working and what isn’t? Are you facing any specific challenges with the exercises? Is a customized audio program necessary? Have you experienced any new stressors? An examination of possible tinnitus triggers.

During follow up sessions, we will refine the strategy based on your current rate of progress, as well as any new or ongoing challenges you face. Throughout the process, the difficulty level of the exercises will be increased.

As you improve your tinnitus and raise your quality of life, I will offer continuous strategy refinement, problem solving, and audio support.

Challenging yourself at regular intervals is important. As you progress, I will design more difficult exercises to speed up your success.
