If you’re a member of any of the Tinnitus Facebook groups, you’ve probably noticed an increase in the number of people talking about CBD products.

If not, allow me to give you brief introduction: CBD (short for Cannabidiol) is one of 113 different naturally occurring cannabinoids found in the marijuana/hemp plant. On its own, it’s non-psychoactive which means you cannot get high from consuming CBD. Yet it’s believed to be responsible for many of the medicinal effects of cannabis.

I recently wrote about some of my early experiences with CBD, and the response was incredible. (If you haven’t read my previous CBD post, do so now.)

CBD has helped me to manage my stress and anxiety levels more than anything else I’ve tried. It doesn’t seem to directly reduce my tinnitus levels, but it completely relieves my stress and anxiety, both of which are huge triggers for me. Stress reduction is a big part of managing tinnitus, especially early on in the habituation process.

So from a stress point of view, CBD has indirectly helped me more than I ever could have imagined. And after more than 6 months of daily use, I continue to be blown away at how much it seems to improve my quality of life.

In the coming months, I’m going to write a lot more about CBD. I plan to write a comprehensive guide to using CBD for tinnitus (and chronic illness in general). I will be reviewing new CBD products, letting you know about CBD related research, and reaching out to CBD companies to try to get discounts for everyone!

The Review:

In that spirit, I want to tell you all about a new CBD oil that tested extensively over the last 2 months from an amazing company called CBDistillery. Before trying CBDistillery, most of my experiences with CBD were limited to Charlotte’s Web Hemp Oil. It was exciting to try a new CBD oil from another leader in this space.

After waiting 13 business to receive my most recent order of Charlotte’s Web, I was delighted when my CBDistillery order arrived after only 2 days, and ordering itself was a breeze.

CBDistillery offers a great variety of CBD products from full spectrum CBD oils of varying concentrations, to isolated CBD powder, pills and capsules, disposable vape pens and vape cartridges, capsules, topical creams, and more. It’s an amazing selection, and the pricing is excellent, though it can be bit overwhelming if you’re new to CBD or if you don’t know exactly what you want.

For my first order, I decided to go with the 500mg 30ml Full Spectrum CBD Tincture. At $35 plus shipping, it’s less expensive than everything else I’ve tried from Charlotte’s Web, and at a higher CBD concentration per milliliter than what I was using before, requiring less oil per dose. I’ve since tried the 1000mg CBD 30ml concentration, and like it just as much. In fact, it’s become my goto CBD oil for the last few weeks. (I’ve been using the disposable CBD vape pens too, which are also excellent – review coming soon!)

But CBDistillery offers several lower priced CBD products as well, which are an excellent way to try CBD without breaking the bank. If you’re interested in trying CBD Oil for the first time, I would recommend either the 500mg Full Spectrum Oil that I ordered or the 250mg Full Spectrum CBD Oil ($20).

After 2 months of daily use, my results have been wonderful! I’ve experimented with dosages between 5 and 30 mg of CBD, though 10-20 mg is my sweet spot, and I’ve actually found it more effective than Charlotte’s Web for helping me fall sleep. For anxiety and stress relief, it’s equally as effective.

Within minutes of sublingual dosing, I feel my anxiety melt away. The tension in my chest and stomach releases as a subtle relaxation washes over my body. I feel sharper in a certain sense too. It’s an enjoyable, relaxed focus that helps me to be more productive. I know many of you have experienced this effect as well.

The taste isn’t bad either, though not nearly as pleasant as the mint chocolate and olive oil flavors of Charlotte’s Web. CBDistillery’s CBD oils smell and taste like, well, like hemp. It’s not unpleasant in the least, and far better than other oils I’ve tried, but Charlotte’s Web is delicious and sets a high bar for comparison. (I honestly have no idea of how Charlottes Web was able to make their oils taste so good!)

Final Thoughts and CBD Oil Recommendation:

All in all, I’m incredibly impressed. I highly recommend CBDistillery, especially if you are interested in trying CBD and looking for to try it for the first time.

I’m also excited to review some of the other products they have to offer, so expect additional reviews in the coming weeks!

If you want to try CBDistillery, I recommend starting with one the CBD oils and experimenting with the dose.

And best of all, I was able to get a permanent discount code for Rewiring Tinnitus!

Hi John, I take around 20-25 mg of CBD at night, and 5-10 mg during the day if needed for stress/anxiety. But keep in mind that everyone reacts differently, and just because this dose is effective for me, doesn’t mean that it’s the right dose for you. You may have to play around with the dosage a bit.

      1. Hi Glenn, I’m a little confused on the dose. I bought the CB Distillery 1000 and it says 33ml per serving. Is a serving a dropper full so I’d take then maybe a 1/2 a dropper to start?

Hi Joe, a serving is 1 milliliter, which is roughly equal to a 3/4 full dropper from a 30ml bottle. So if you fill the dropper up 3/4 full, that’s 33mg CBD and you can use that as a reference to measure smaller doses.

Hi Chris, thats going to vary from person to person and case to case. It depends what you’re using for, and how effective CBD is for you specifically. I get great benefits almost immediately when I consume CBD products, and what works for me is taking roughly 25mg of CBD every night, about an hour before bed. I also sometimes take a smaller dose of around 10mg during the day if needed for stress/anxiety.

I don’t actually sell CBD products, so I have no samples of any kind to offer you. Maybe at some point I will, but right now, I just write about CBD and review different products like this occasionally. Though their cheapest oil is only $20 so if you want to try it, it’s an expensive way to test it out.

  1. Hello Glenn. Do you have any more information about CBD products and tinnitus? I just read an article recommending Love Portion No. 1, which I never heard of. Thanks.

  2. Hey Glenn. Great info. I am Canadian so we can purchase all pot products online. I just purchased a concentrated CBD spray and used for the first time yesterday, so good to hear your portioning as a starting point. I used the spray a number of times yesterday and it is REALLY early, but I actually slept without headphones for the first time in 2 months. Today, I woke up and feel very good (Horrible Tinnitus is 10/10 and I was probably 5/10, which is the best I have been in a month) but I can feel the Tinnitus picking up today. I just took 10mg more and will see if it calms things down. I pray this is all because of the CBD. Will keep experimenting with the amounts and post here.

    1. I’m new to this forum, so my question is to Steve Forman…. what does it mean Tinnitus is 10/10, and I was probably 5/10?
I HAVE A SECOND OCTIVE A RINGING IN BOTH EARS, SAME PITCH. Checked by doctors, noise and job related hearing loss, all caused by me over the years. I have never used any drugs to try to stop the ringing, I just put up with it, and attempt to drown it out with background noise. I have been reading about the CBD Oil, and at this stage/point in my life, I’D TRY ANYTHING. Doctors are useless, have done NOTHING, except suggest a hearing test, look in the ears, yup looks bad, typical hearing loss from loud noise related issues over the years. See Ya….
If the ringing is 24 hours a day, (and we who have this issue know what I’m talking about) is the noise telling our brains not to produce melatonin, when we attempt to go to sleep? I wake up exhausted, and in the early afternoon, I’m ready for an 8 hour nap. I take a shot of Nyquil an hour before bed, just to knock myself out, or I stay up till I’m unable to keep my eyes open, and then run for the bed. I’m 64, played guitar in a cover songs rock band for 7 years, Drag raced at New England Dragway, raced boats with thru the hull exhaust, so loud i cant believe how many years I assaulted my ears doing this.
Do you think the CBD oil may help?
I also noticed that you said stress levels could be creating this issue… I’m under a tremendous amount of stress,
Divorce impending, daughters college, paying for everything, working at least a straight 50 hr week teaching a 19 yo how to drive, who is a typical, miserable, I know everything, you know nothing kid.
Besides a 357 magnum, has ANYONE GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS.
